So, beginning of the summer is always a bit slow in business. The best opportunity to do some maintenance, upgrades and refurbishments. This pre-summer Caribbean Breeze was the center of attention. New curtains, repairs of the countertop and….a whole new terrace!
First job was, of course, to tear down the existing terrace. Termites had developed an interest in the wood, so it had to go!
I decided not to let any wood touch the ground in the new terrace, so we started with a nice, low, brick wall. But before that could happen, I needed to decide the measurements and do some painting.
Next day my trusted handyman Roody came to build the wall and roof. Meanwhile I cleaned the roof plates for re-use.
It took the guys 2 days. One for the wall, one for the roof. I am very happy with their work, but now mine starts…………. Painting (yet again), installing a back-screen so my future guests don’t sit about staring in my living room Nor I from my living room into their terrace :-), make sure the gravel stays in place and some other additions. I started by going to the drive-through buying wood for the fencing/screen. Set it up, painted it AND made a nice small table with the leftover wood.
Installing the back screen was quite a challenge on my own, but I did it!!!! You can do anything if you put your mind to it, right?!
